The event brought together over 2,000 young leaders aged between 18 and 35, from 202 countries along with world figures including Sir Bob Geldof, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Mary Robinson, former High Commissioner for human rights, for a week of making connections, discussions and workshops.
It was great to have these inspiring people connecting with us and listening to our views,”
Bamo says.
We were all assigned mentors, in my case Michael Möller, the Director General of the UN Office at Geneva, who reflected on my work in international relations. Overall, the event was a powerful opportunity for personal development and positive action.”

Commenting further on the summit Dr Suresh Gamlath, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Business Development) said;
Sustainability was a big part of the conference agenda and so aligned strongly with our values here at UWL- we are working hard to further embed the culture of sustainability across our University and become a net-zero carbon campus by 2030. It was really useful and enlightening to discuss and exchange ideas with such an engaged international group. Whatever happens around the world, we are all affecting each other so it’s really important to talk!”
One World partners with international businesses and non-profit organisations including UNICEF, Save the Children, IKEA, Coca-Cola, Citi, KPMG and Deloitte, and the event’s agenda encompasses the most pressing issues affecting the world’s future, such as climate change, sustainability, conflict and equality.
Actions being taken by business and NGOs in response to these challenges are showcased during the event and highlight areas for improvement and solutions.
