A student from the University of West London (UWL) has been awarded PQ Magazine’s Accountancy Graduate of the Year Award for 2022.
Sara Radi, a final-year student studying BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance at UWL, received the award in recognition of her consistent professionalism, passion for accountancy, and demonstrating excellence in her studies. As a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant’s (ACCA) Student Advisory Board, Sara helps shape the professional body’s student-focused activities to inspire future generations of finance professionals.
She was also successful in securing a position at a management accountancy practice as a trainee accountant and is well on-track to realise her career ambitions. Despite her busy schedule, Sara still finds the time to volunteer in promoting some good causes such as mental health and wellbeing.
Speaking about her award, Sara said:
My time at UWL has been an amazing experience - I have learnt so much and been given so many opportunities to develop as a finance professional. I am especially grateful to my tutors who have been a great source of inspiration and encouragement.”
Dr Dinusha Weerawardane, Subject Head of Accounting and Finance at The Claude Littner Business School said:
Sara’s award is a source of inspiration to us all - for both students and tutors alike. Having been named ‘Public Sector Accountancy College of the Year’ at last year’s PQ Awards, Sara’s success strengthens our position as one of the UK’s leading providers of Accountancy education."
The BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance course at the University of West London is a professional body-accredited programme. All successful UWL graduates are entitled to nine exemptions in ACCA (the highest level of exemptions granted by the professional body).
