More than 200 interviews were undertaken by the Employment Services team. The 2023 programme required effective collaboration between Careers and Employment Service, Human Resources and Information Technology teams to assist the large number of graduate candidates and interviews and ensure contracts and IT accounts were set up on time.
38 interns have been placed with schools at UWL and a further seven at local businesses. This is the second highest graduate internship uptake since the start of the programme. Graduate interns will be paid the London Living Wage.
Head of Placement and Employment Services Huda Ismail said,
UWL is known as the 'Careers University' and the graduate internship programme is just one of the many initiatives that supports our graduate talent. Congratulations to all the successful candidates this year!
And even if you were not successful this year, the Careers and Employment Service team is on hand to help you on your career journey, so please get in touch!”
Sherene Doughty, who is working as a Graduate Project Coordinator for UWL’s London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism (LGCHT), said,
Starting a new role will always be filled with its own unique challenges but with the amount of support and opportunities to develop my skillset instantly mapped out by colleagues at UWL, the start has been nothing short of amazing.”
Archard Ferrari, who is working externally as a Graduate Research Assistant with West London Chambers, said,
My employer has so far been amazing and a true delight to work with. The team have helped me learn new things and develop my skills while showing me what it is like to work in a professional environment. I highly recommend this internship programme and company.”
