Alumni discount on taught postgraduate courses
If you are awarded your degree and graduate with a relevant three or four year undergraduate degree from the University of West London between summer 2024 and January 2025, you will be eligible for a discount of £2,000 when joining a taught postgraduate course in February or September 2025.
If you graduated earlier than summer 2024 and wish to join a taught postgraduate course in 2025, you will be eligible for a discount of £500.
The discount will be awarded for both full-time and part-time study and will be applied automatically upon enrolment.
Terms and conditions
- You must have attended and completed an undergraduate degree at the University of West London.
- The discount is for taught postgraduate study.
- Qualifications must have been obtained within the past 10 years to be eligible and must be from UWL or our predecessor institution.
- The discount may only be applied to one course.
- Each applicant can only receive one discount and cannot be in receipt of any other scholarship or bursary.
- The discount are payable on a pro-rata basis dependant on the number of postgraduate credits taken.
- The alumni discount does not apply to courses provided by our franchise partners.

Full-time Undergraduate Bursary
Students must fulfil all criteria below:
- Students paying Home fees
- Students from a household with a gross income of less than £28,000 per annum
- Students who have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time undergraduate bachelor's degree at UWL and be starting their new course at Level 4 in September 2024 or October 2024
The following students are not eligible:
- Students on a BA/BSc/BEng with Foundation Year
- Students on courses eligible to apply for additional funding from the NHS Learning Support Fund (eg Nursing and Midwifery courses) or UWL Biomedical Science Bursary
- Students paying the 'Overseas' fee rate
- Students whose fees are paid or part-paid through a sponsorship arrangement (eg degree apprentices or students studying on a collaborative programme)
- Students studying at affiliate or partner institutions
- Students with full entitlement of UWL Full-time Undergraduate Bursary or Path to Success Scholarship processed already
- Students in receipt of the New Courses Bursary will not be eligible for the Full-time Undergraduate Bursary in Year 1 (Level 4) but will be considered in Years 2 and 3 (Levels 5 and 6).
If we are able to access household income data from Student Loans Company, no application is required; if you are eligible you will be considered automatically.
Path to Success Bursary
If you are a Home fee region student starting a four or five-year full-time undergraduate degree course including a foundation year in September/October 2024, you are eligible to receive our Path to Success Bursary.
No application is required; if you are eligible you will be considered automatically.
*The bursary is subject to your attendance, submission to assessment, progression to the next year of study and engagement with your personal tutor.
Top-up Bursary
The Top-up Bursary is available to new Home fee region entrants enrolling onto Level 6 of a full-time undergraduate top-up degree, having previously completed a stand-alone Level 5 qualification at another institution, in January/February 2024 or September/October 2024.
The bursary is made up of:
- £1,500 fee waiver
- £500 paid on completion of your course.
There is no deadline and all eligible students are automatically considered.
UWL Aspire Bursary
Available to undergraduate students starting a course in academic year 23/24. The books and funds are provided to help you with your studying costs.
The funds are provided as an Aspire account which can be accessed and used on the Aspire at UWL Engagement Portal.
Please note you DO NOT need to apply for this bursary; all eligible students will be given the bursary at induction.

Helena Kennedy Foundation Bursary 2024
The bursary is open to prospective Home (UK) students who are in their final year at a publicly-funded further education institution at the time of applying.

Help to Achieve Scholarship
The Help to Achieve Scholarships are kindly supported by alumni and friends of the University of West London.
The Scholarships are open to full-time Home and International students pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course.
The University selection committee will select the most deserving candidates.
International Ambassador Scholarship
If you are an international fee-paying student with an offer to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree with us, you are eligible to apply for one of our International Ambassador Scholarships.
As an International Ambassador you will meet other international students on the scheme and you will be asked to help showcase UWL to prospective international students, including helping out at Open Days, participating in interviews, videos and photoshoots with the Marketing department or engaging with visiting international students.

Learning Disabilities bursary
As a BNursing Learning Disabilities Nursing or PgDip Learning Disabilities Nursing student, you will receive a one-off UWL bursary of £1,000*. This is in addition to the NHS grant of at least £5,000 a year, plus a NHS subject specialist grant of a further £1,000 per academic year.

*This bursary is automatically awarded on successful completion of Year 1 of the course and is only applicable to students beginning their studies in September 2024.
LGCHT Friends and Alumni Scholarship
The London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism Friends and Alumni Scholarships are kindly supported by friends and former students of the College.
The Scholarships are open to full-time Home and International students pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course at the London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism.
The College's selection committee will select the most deserving candidates.

The Brian Woodman Memorial Prize
The Brian Woodman Memorial Prize is kindly supported by his son Professor Anthony Woodman.
The Prize is open to full-time Home and International students pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course at the School of Medicine and Biosciences. The Prize will be awarded to the student who has done most to instil diversity into the Biomedical Sciences.
The School's selection committee will select the most deserving candidate.

The Cathie Wallace Scholarship is kindly supported by Professor Emerita Cathie Wallace.
The Scholarship is open to full-time Home and International students at the University of West London pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course.

The Chris Read Memorial Cup Prize
The Chris Read Memorial Cup Prize is kindly supported by the St. Thomas’ Hospital Catering Bursars Club.
The Prize is open to full-time Home and International students pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course at the London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism.
The College's selection committee will select the most deserving candidate based on academic recommendations.

The Geoffrey Harrison Foundation Scholarship in Hospitality Management
The Geoffrey Harrison Foundation Scholarship in Hospitality Management is kindly supported by the Geoffrey Harrison Foundation.
The Scholarship is open to full-time Home and International students who are in Level 5 (Year 2) of an undergraduate degree course in Hospitality Management. This is a two-year scholarship, worth £5,000 per year to one student (totalling £10,000 over two years). The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to pursuing a career in the UK hospitality industry.
