Course detail & modules
On this specialist MBA you will be equipped with a consultative approach to translate challenges into innovative solutions. The challenges come in the form of real-life projects. Giving you the opportunity to apply your newly acquired skills in a real-life setting.
The MBA is founded on a broad base of management and business thinking that is both strategic and interdisciplinary. The two-days a week face to face sessions (typically Friday and Saturday) have been designed to give you the leadership skills needed to design and implement innovation and change at a strategic level. Be this in major corporations, start-ups or SMEs.
What you will study
This specialist MBA in Consultancy for Innovation and Change consists of four modules.
In the first module, you’ll work with your peers on a simulated project. Giving you the opportunity to apply newly acquired skills and knowledge in a safe environment.
In the second module, it’s about applying what you’ve learned to the real world. You’ll be working with your peers on a real-life client project. UWLs academic faculty and roster of experienced consultants will support and guide you through it.
Module three gives you the opportunity to work towards becoming an expert on a chosen subject – this could be around neuroscience, biotech or other topics. You will develop an evidence-based, innovative solution that adds value to organisations.
In module four, we equip you with the skills required to successfully influence stakeholders and win the hearts and minds of a real-life boardroom made up of investors and business owners.
Across all modules, the learning is challenge-based and (real-life) project-driven. In this MBA, learning has many faces. It will be via seminars, workshops, innovation teams, networking events and peer coaching. All aimed to equip you with the skills and experience needed to succeed in real-life settings. For example:
Coaching - All learning will be project-based. You will regularly review your own work and learn how to peer-coach through receiving and giving feedback to classmates on projects. You will have a learning buddy within your team, through peer coaching and challenges, you will learn to excel under pressure.
Innovation teams - Teamwork and action learning is fundamental to this MBA. As part of an Innovation Team you will learn to collaborate on module assignments framed as consultancy projects.
