Library facilities at Fountain House in Reading
The Reading Campus Library at Fountain House primarily serves the nursing and midwifery students based there but may be used by any of the University’s students living in Reading or the surrounding area.
The Library covers nursing and health-related topics, along with computers, study spaces, and library support
Books borrowed from our main library site at Ealing may be returned at our Reading library, and books located at Ealing may be requested for collection in Reading.

Our services are designed to help reduce the amount of time you need to spend in the Library. You can choose to request books to collect from any of our sites, or request digital copies of certain pages or a chapter.

Study spaces at the Reading Campus Library

Booking procedure
There are a number of study rooms within the Reading Campus Library that you are able to book to use. When these are not booked, they can be freely accessed on a first-come first-served basis.
Rooms may be booked up to 1 week in advance (or longer if booked through Library staff). You will need to provide your UWL email details, and confirmation of the booking will be sent to that address. If you no longer require a room, please cancel the booking no later than 1 hour before the booking is due to start.
Fair Use:
- There is a two-hour maximum booking by any one group
- No double bookings by group members are permitted.
Please note that in order to allow fair use of these facilities, library staff reserve the right to cancel or amend bookings, or to move those using these spaces to alternative locations in the library in order to make the most efficient use of the space.

Reading Campus Library rooms
The Library at Reading is suitable for individual study only.
FH-09-002 – Alaska is a Conference style room with chairs and table suitable for up to 6 people. It can be booked through the My Timetable Tile on the Student Portal.
There are a number of different types of rooms on the 9th and 10th floors of Fountain House that you can study in if they are not otherwise being used.
