Hear from Mustafa Khokhawala, BSc (Hons) Culinary Arts Management student and International Student Ambassador, to find out more about us and what to expect when you start your journey at UWL.

  • How did you learn about the University of West London?

Originally from India, my journey to UWL was fuelled by a deep passion for culinary arts and a desire to combine that passion with effective management skills. The vibrant and multicultural environment at UWL appealed to me, offering not only an excellent education but also a chance to thrive in a global community.

Discovering the University of West London was a pivotal moment in my educational journey. Drawn by its exceptional reputation, I was captivated by the unique blend of culinary arts and management principles offered in the Culinary Arts Management program. This distinctive combination aligns perfectly with my passion for culinary arts and my ambition to merge creativity with managerial expertise."

  • What attracted you to apply to study with us?

What attracted me to apply to study at UWL was not just the academic excellence but the immersive and hands-on approach to learning. The state-of-the-art culinary facilities, coupled with a curriculum designed to bridge the gap between culinary artistry and effective management, made UWL the ideal choice for me."

  • What are your initial impressions of the University?

My initial impressions of the University have exceeded expectations. The supportive community, comprised of both dedicated faculty and likeminded peers, has fostered an environment where learning goes beyond the classroom. The modern infrastructure and emphasis on practical experiences have made my transition into the world of Culinary Arts Management both exciting and seamless."

  • What reflections do you have on the programme after the first month of teaching?

As I reflect on my first month in the program, I am struck by the dynamic and collaborative nature of the learning process. The balance between theory and hands-on experiences has provided a comprehensive understanding of both culinary arts and effective management strategies. Each class feels like a culinary adventure, shaping not only my skills but also my perspective on the industry."
