10 online resources you should be using
Introduction
The UWL campus is jam-packed full of resources and facilities to support you in your studies, but there is a whole range of online resources you can benefit from too.
10 online resources you should be using
1. The Student Hub
Access all the support UWL has to offer, book appointments, sign-up for workshops, get advice, and much, much more.
2. LinkedIn Learning
The ultimate learning resource, LinkedIn Learning offers an extensive selection of in-depth courses created by industry professionals. As a UWL student, you have full access to over 16,000 expert-led courses and get a certificate when you complete them. Log-in via the Student Portal using your UWL log-in.
3. SkillsForStudy
Build the skills for success in your studies - SkillsForStudy offers a personalised solution to help you develop both academic and employability skills.
4. Blackboard
You’ll already be familiar with Blackboard learning environment but don’t miss the chance to get the most out of its features. Blackboard has discussion boards and forums in which you can collaborate with the people on your course.
5. CampusPress
An online tool for creating portfolios, blogs, and websites for learning, teaching, and assessment. Great for creating portfolios or a private journal.
6. LibSearch
The Library is packed full of books, e-books and journals to support you in your studies. And if you want to make the most of them, you’ll need to use LibSearch – the Library’s discovery service.
7. RefWorks
Referencing and creating bibliographies can be time-consuming. With RefWorks, you can insert in-text citations to a word-processed document as well as build a reference list or bibliography. You can create a new account on RefWorks with your UWL email address to become a UWL member.
8. Shortlister
Shortlister helps to build your interview skills. This platform offers virtual interview practice using artificial intelligence to give feedback on your interview. You can choose from a range of companies within different industries.
9. Cite them right
Not sure how to cite anything from images, maps, reports, or government papers, Cite them Right will guide you. You can access this with your UWL institution login.
10. UWL Replay
If your lectures are being recorded, you should be putting UWL Replay to good use. UWL Replay allows you to re-watch your lectures when they’ve been recorded so that you can refresh your memory during your studies.
