Business brains battle it out on campus as UWL features in The Apprentice

The University of West London has featured in the latest episode of BBC1’s The Apprentice after candidates filmed their latest task on campus.

Heading to St Mary’s Road to film half of this week’s fishing task, contestants made use of the University’s Pillars Kitchen where they were taught to prepare freshly caught fish ready for sale.

Showing off UWL’s leading facilities on screen as the kitchens were transformed into a filming location, the University also welcomed business expert, Karen Brady to watch over the hopefuls as they battled it out to be offered the chance to go into business with Sir Alan Sugar.

Professor Anthony Woodman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UWL, said:

We have incredible industry-standard facilities here at UWL and it is great to see those having an impact outside our student community and teaching unexpected new skills on The Apprentice.

But studying hospitality with us is more than just food preparation. You will build knowledge in everything from developing future foods to fully-plant based catering using our specialist kitchens and industry expert lecturers – and we are proud to be showing that off in completely new ways.”

This is the latest in ongoing connections between UWL and this year’s show – with new aide, Tim Campell being a graduate of the Claude Littner Business School, and contestant Stephanie Affleck a former Events Management student at the University.
