Business expertise securing international future for UWL student
After losing her job to the pandemic and deciding to completely transform her next steps, a UWL student is building a truly future-proof career thanks to postgraduate learning.
Kanice Leung moved to London from her home in Hong Kong after having to give up her career in retail once Covid-19 restrictions and global lockdowns hit.
Now, already gearing up for an international career building on all her skills from her time working for an international company and what she is learning at UWL’s Claude Littner Business School, she said:
After I lost my job, I moved to London with my partner and wanted to retrain and build the next steps through education. I looked at courses that would allow me to expand on what I was doing previously, while building my opportunities.
I had a lot of international experience and knew that to follow this and study in business would put me in a strong position for the future."
Now upskilling via study for an MSc in International Business Management, Kanice is excited to begin her next steps and use her experience in consultancy to take her next steps when she completes her course next year.
Speaking about her time at UWL, she said:
I am learning so much from the lecturers here, they have real industry insight and specific knowledge which is so valuable as I build my career.
The tutors are really helping they have experience and are giving me the confidence I need. I want to go into strategy and consultancy and know I have the support here to help me get there."
