1. Managing your time effectively

Organising your time is a fundamental skill that you will need to harness while studying at university.

The Study Support Team can work with you to develop an effective study plan that considers all your study and personal commitments, and factors in time for you to have a break and de-stress!

2. Offer guidance on assignments

Tackling your assignments can be stressful – particularly if you are not sure how to approach it or what is expected of you.

The Study Support Team can help you break down your assignment guidelines and develop a detailed plan to start your work. Once you have written something, they can offer you feedback and let you know if you are going in the right direction and if your work makes sense. Book an appointment by visiting the study support page via the Student Hub.

3. Provide you with opportunities to improve your study skills

As you progress through your course, you find that there are certain study skills that you want to develop to take your work to the next level.

The Study Support Team offers over 30 different workshops aimed at helping you develop your academic techniques and writing. Some of their writing focused workshops include essay writing, report writing, writing a reflective assignment and more. If you want help with your writing sills, register for a free advice session with a Royal Literary Fund Fellow to improve your writing.

4. Help you work through your feedback

You may find it difficult to process the feedback you have received on your assessments.

The Study Support Team can discuss your feedback comments and help you to understand your tutor’s suggestions and offer you practical steps on how to implement these suggestions going forward. Have a look at the current timetable for study support team drop-ins.

5. Help you get back on track

Sometimes things may not go to plan during your studies, and you may feel as though you are falling behind.

If you are undergoing resits or if you have mitigated assignments, the Study Support Team can advise you on how to balance your time so you can concentrate on your current modules while working on completing outstanding assessments.
