Future You: Get ready for graduation
Intro
Graduation is just around the corner, and we cannot wait to celebrate your achievements at UWL. Between now and when you graduate, there’s plenty to do and plenty to get excited about before you take to the stage at the iconic Twickenham Stadium! Keep reading to find out more about how you can prepare for the best possible Graduation Day.
Main body
Hire your cap and gown
The cap and gown are the ultimate symbols of graduation and academic success! You can hire your cap and gowns online and pick them up on the day of graduation. The window for hiring your Graduation apparel closes 21 days before the graduation date so make sure to get those orders in soon.
If for any reason you require financial support with hiring a cap and gown, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with student services.
Book your photography
Ede & Ravenscroft are the official photographers for our graduation ceremonies. Their studios will be in The Live Room for portrait and family photographs (all family participants must have a guest ticket).
You can make it quicker on the day by pre-booking your photography online.
Register for parking
If you’re driving to Twickenham, we are pleased to announce that free parking will be available to you provided you’ve booked a permit. Instructions on how to book a permit will be emailed to you in your student briefing notes.
Plan your travel
Getting around London can be tricky at the best of times, and though we’re not aware of any train or tube strikes across graduation week, it’s always a good idea to plan your journey ahead of time, and keep an eye on the National Rail and/or TfL websites for updates.
Plan your outfit
Being conferred your degree in front of friends, family and peers is a big moment. We’re sure you want to look your best so don’t forget to pick out your outfit!
Plan your celebration
Twickenham and the surrounding area are filled with great restaurants, bars and places to celebrate. You’ve worked so incredibly hard for this moment, and once the formal ceremony is over, it’s time to do something celebratory of your own. Think about what you want to do to mark this very special day!
Share your personalised video clip
Once you’ve crossed that stage, we’re excited to say that you can relive that incredible moment again and again. UWL will be sending you a personalised video clip of you receiving your reward shortly after the ceremony. Share it with friends, family and on social media. Make sure to tag @uwlalumni in your posts!
Have fun and enjoy yourself!
You’ve worked so hard for this day, you’ve earned it. Let us make a fuss of you and celebrate your achievements and let yourself enjoy every moment. We couldn’t be prouder of our graduating students.
