Industry calling for student music manager
Getting a strong start to a future in music management, a UWL student is supporting new talent while she studies thanks to a unique opportunity to work with up-and-coming performers on the university’s newly launched record label.
As well as helping to develop and release new tracks, BA (Hons) Music Management student, Daniela Ferreira is encouraging emerging musicians and working hard to get students featured on playlists across streaming services as she gets a taste for the industry.
Now in her second year of study at UWL’s London College of Music (LCM), she is one of the students taking a lead in launching London Noise and not only building her own abilities but giving a professional platform to performers across the university.
The unique opportunity means she is now building up new professional skills and growing the networks that will allow her to hit the ground running once she starts her own career in the industry.
Daniela said:
I love the course at LCM, and to have the opportunity to start to manage the new record label is incredible. We are giving it structure and organising how things will go forward, bringing in more resources and looking out for new artists.
I have always wanted to go into the business side of the music industry, and this is a fantastic start to my career because I am already building networks and helping musicians get ahead in the industry.
Tutors are giving us so much support, and we have so many opportunities in all different areas including the label. This is a great start for my career and I am excited to see what will come next."
