West London healthcare graduates celebrate at Twickenham Stadium

Celebrating yet more impressive efforts as they offer care and support across London, the next generation of healthcare professionals have graduated from the University of West London today.
During a second day of graduation ceremonies, hundreds of nursing, midwifery, paramedic, and healthcare graduates were able to celebrate with family and friends.
The celebrations mark the end of years of hard work and some of the most testing times for students, with many going above and beyond to support the Covid-19 pandemic efforts across London’s hospitals while still at university.
The graduates have all now successfully completed their courses at UWL’s College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare – with hundreds already delivering care and support across the NHS – and many volunteering to offer vital support when hospitals and care services were most in need over the past 18 months.
Professor Anthony Woodman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UWL, said:
We are immensely proud of all our healthcare graduates celebrating with us today and so pleased that they are now able to celebrate everything they have achieved with us over the past few years.
The past 20 months have been incredibly challenging, but we have all been touched by the wonderful resilience our students and staff have shown. The flexibility of our nurses and midwives has been amazing, as they volunteered through the pandemic with the NHS. So many gave their time to delivering food parcels and provisions for those self-isolating or shielding.
So many of our students went above and beyond and as the next generation of healthcare providers and specialists, we are so proud of them all as they prepare to go and do so much good for others."
