School of Human and Social Sciences

Alice is a lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at the University of West London, previously a teaching fellow at UCL from 2019 to 2021, teaching on the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (BASC) programme.

Alice’s primary areas of expertise are gendered migrations, citizenship and belonging. She completed her doctorate, affiliated through research to the University of East London’s Centre for Narrative Research (CNR) and the Centre for Research on Migration, Refugee and Belonging (CMRB). The research looked into the complex interplay of migration and related ideas of sovereignty, empire, nation, race, gender and indigeneity. The research was not limited to exploring people’s subjective experiences but also encompassed an examination of the historic, social and material conditions within which subjectivities are constructed, how communities are imagined and created through a sense of belonging in time and place.
