The Claude Littner Business School

Amelia Au-Yeung, PhD, has recently joined the Claude Littner Business School as Head of Subject in Business, Management and Marketing. Prior to this, Amelia worked at Kingston Business School, Kingston University as Principal Lecturer for many years, where she had accumulated extensive experience in leading, developing and managing courses at undergraduate, Masters and MBA levels. Most courses she had led were accredited by accreditation bodies such as EPAS and AMBA. During her tenure as MBA and Executive MBA (Moscow) programme Course Director, the MBA and Executive MBA (Moscow) programmes were ranked among top two MBA programmes in Russia.

During her tenure as MSc International Business Management (and pathways) programme Course Director, she had fostered/developed international collaborative arrangements with four international collaborative partners on the programme. Those collaborative arrangements had significantly enriched the international aspect of the programme education, and had been highly praised and valued by students on the programme. She had also successfully run a premium evening lecture series called Strategy into Practice where she invited top executives such as Greg Dyke, former BBC General Director, Sir Andrew Cahn, former UKTI Chief Executive, and Lord Michael Hastings, International Director of Corporate Citizenship at KPMG, to share their strategic insights with students, alumni and staff across the university to enhance strategy education at Kingston Business School.

Amelia dedicates her research in the area of retail internationalisation and retail strategy, with a focus on emerging markets such as China. She has been reviewers for major international conferences, such as Academy of Marketing, and some academic journals in her area. Amelia has also had some freelance consultancy experience looking at internationalisation strategy and among them she had also run a very successful Knowledge Transfer Partnership project with Retail Decisions after securing funding of c. £100K from the then Department of Trade and Industry developing and implementing an internationalisation strategy for the company to enter Asia. She has extensive experience in external examining with a number of higher education institutions. Programmes she external examines cover UG and MBA levels and include those UK validated programmes delivered overseas.
