I began my midwifery career in 1994, qualifying as a midwife in New Zealand. I practised as a midwife at National Women’s Hospital in Auckland and at Wellington Hospital before moving abroad to the UK in 1997.
During my midwifery career in the NHS I have worked throughout maternity, including time as a Labour Ward coordinator, Lead midwife for Critical Care and as a Practice Development midwife. Prior to commencing the lecturer post at the University of West London in 2021 I was an Infant Feeding Lead and IBCLC at Wexham Park Hospital.
