Emma trained at Elmhurst Ballet School, whilst training won the Dancing Times Award for choreography. Since graduating has had a varied career as a dancer and performer. Musicals include Half a Sixpence, concert versions of Nymph Errant and My One and Only. Opera's including Aida (Earls Court) Anna Bolena and Medea (Royal Opera House). Touring the UK, Europe and the Far East in various shows from cabaret to corporate events, as well as appearing at the Edinburgh Festival. Television and video work include Hale & Pace (LWT), Making News (Thames TV), KYTV (BBC 2), Noel Edmonds House Party (BBC 1), BBC I-Dent, Scommettiamo Che (Rai Uno, Italian TV). Dame Edna, Robert Plant and the Communards.
Choreographic credits include 'A Christmas Carol' at the New Wimbledon Theatre and Trafalgar Studios. Cabaret at the Manoel Theatre, Malta, West Side Story at St James Cavalier Arts Centre, Malta. Noel and Gertie at the Latchmere Theatre and Anastasia the Musical at the Thorndike Theatre. Rigoletto for Pavilion Opera Company UK and European tour. Emma has also been involved in choreographing events at The Dorchester, Grosvenor House, Natural History Museum, Birmingham NEC (Concert Hall), Birmingham NEC Hilton and London Fashion Week. Emma has taught and choreographed at London Academy of Performing Arts, ALRA and Central School of Speech and Drama. She is a visiting tutor at the Actor's Centre, London.
Emma holds a PgCert in Academic Practice (INSTIL) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. A Foundation Certificate in Deaf Studies, as well as having a Level 2 Certificate in Sign Language. Since 2008 she has been a volunteer for Definitely Theatre and the National Deaf Children's Society. Emma continues to maintain her research interests with the intergenerational dance company SpiralArts, which includes the Big Dance Project as was part of London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Celebrations. As part of the Pragma Weekend Emma performed as a soloist in a dance entitled 'Enduring Love' choreographed by Thomas Michael Voss at Festival of Love, Royal Festival Hall. Additional performances were given as part of Big Dance 2014 at Westfield (Shepherds Bush).
