Ivan Olivera Daza
I qualified as a Nursing degree (with several honours) from Red Cross Nursing School of Seville (Spain) in 2010.
In May 2014, I decided to come to the UK to maximise my knowledge and skills as a healthcare professional and started working for the NHS.
After almost 9 years of permanent clinical practice in NHS critical care units, I developed a highly professional management of critical care therapies and procedures for level 3 patients such as: mechanical ventilation for endotracheal/tracheostomised patients, sedation and paralysing agents, CRRT, intra-aortic balloon pump, PA catheters, pacemakers, advanced invasive haemodynamic monitoring, multiple inotropic support, intra-hospital and inter-hospital transfers, ECMO therapy and post-operative cardio-thoracic patients, among others.

Teaching
During my clinical practice for almost nine years in NHS critical care units, I dedicated a lot of time to educational programs, teaching and instructing new starter nurses, junior nurses, nursing associates and healthcare assistants. Additionally, I participated in multiple Tripartite review meetings; practical skills and emulation teaching sessions; clinical supervising and signing competencies at the bed space.
I then decided to take a step forward and begin my academic education position at UWL as a Lecturer of Adult Nursing and Adult Nursing Associate.
