John Rogers

John Rogers has performed and taught in every corner of the globe. He has worked with Leonard Bernstein, Valery Gergiev, and YoYo Ma, accompanied Randy Newman, Anton Du Beke and Jackie Chan, made solo radio broadcasts in New Zealand, Hong Kong, and on the BBC, played at 10 Downing Street, Miami Dolphins’ Stadium, the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, and Abbey Road studios, and appeared in the movie “Mrs Henderson Presents” starring Dame Judi Dench.


His students have entered the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, attended Pro Corda and other chamber music courses, led sections of Cambridge and Ealing Youth Orchestras, played concertos with the orchestra of the Perse School for Girls, and gained Associated Board diplomas.


He worked regularly with the Philharmonia and with English Touring Opera for 22 years, and dozens of other orchestras. He currently teaches chamber music at the Guildhall School Junior Department. For fourteen years he taught at the Perse School for Girls in Cambridge. His most satisfying recent chamber music collaborations have been with Robbie Gibbs, leader of the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, Sandra Porter, Michael Freyhan, Graeme McNaught, and l’Anima di Musica.
