Sofia Diodato
Sofia is a lecturer in Midwifery with various years of experience as a midwife in the NHS. Her journey in the field began in 2015 when she obtained a BSc in Midwifery with Hons at the University of Chieti-Pescara.
After registering with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), she gained expertise by practicing across two busy maternity units in London in various settings ranging from the labour ward to the home birth team, where she promoted normality and continuity of care in the community.
In 2020, she was awarded a MA in Bioethics and Medical Law with distinction at the University of St Mary's in Twickenham. Her dissertation focused on the midwives’ moral views on Down’s Syndrome screening.
Her main areas of interest lie in Bioethics and social aspects of pregnancy and maternity.
