Stuart, currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at SEGA Europe, brings over 20 years of executive-level experience in the technology and gaming industry to the University’s board. At SEGA, Stuart is responsible for overseeing IT and technology functions across the company’s European publishing operations, where he has been recognised as an industry innovator. Stuart has been instrumental in shaping SEGA’s technology strategy, particularly in the areas of business intelligence, advanced data analytics, machine learning and AI. His efforts have significantly enhanced customer experience and product design, demonstrating his ability to leverage technology for transformative results.

In 2017, Stuart was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University, a significant recognition of his contributions to the industry and the community. As the first generation of his family to attend university, Stuart understands the transformative power of education and is passionate about expanding opportunities for all students. He has a deep-seated desire to ensure that students from all backgrounds have access to the education they need to succeed, believing that education is a key driver of social mobility.

As a University governor, Stuart's deep expertise in technology and innovation – combined with his personal journey, passion for education and commitment to supporting students from all backgrounds – is invaluable in guiding the institution’s strategic direction. He is particularly focused on ensuring the University adapts to the rapidly evolving technological landscape and integrates up-to-date technology in educational practices and administration.
