Dr Tesfaye Tessema
Tesfaye Tessema received a physics bachelor's degree from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia, in 2004 and an MSc degree in Geodesy (Civil Engineering) from Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2013. In 2021, he received his PhD in Geophysics from the University of Bristol, England. The Michael Dreyfus PhD Alumni Scholarship supported the PhD. He had research visits at the University of Bristol in 2012 and 2015; and the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in 2015. Since January 2023, he is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on "Theory and Applications of Remote Sensing Techniques and Methods (InSAR)" at the School of Computing and Engineering of the University of West London.

Teaching
He has been involved mainly in research works; however, he has participated in teaching activities as a demonstrator (teaching assistant) along with his PhD research at the University of Bristol.
Research
His research focuses on Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) applications and methods for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques for civil and environmental engineering. He is interested in applying Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) for civil structure monitoring.
He has participated in projects aimed at geoscience applications. He had a research assistant position (part-time) at the University of Leeds (in 2017) and the University of Bristol (in 2020). He has worked in the Geological Survey of Ethiopia as a Geophysicist (2005-2011); and a research associate at IGSSA, Addis Ababa University (2014-2016).
