Our specialist education centre, the Berkshire Institute for Health at Fountain House in Reading town centre, enables us to deliver our nursing and midwifery programmes across the region in partnership with the NHS.
Reading boasts beautiful unspoilt stretches of river and some of the best shopping, dining and theatre outside of London.
It is in walking distance of the main railway and bus stations, adjacent to car parking and within easy reach of the town's 'park and ride' bus stops. You can get to London Paddington by train in 25 minutes.

Our simulation centres at the Berkshire Institute for Health and our West London Campus accurately recreate today's healthcare settings and contain a host of innovative teaching resources.

High-tech simulators, such as Aries and Lucina, enable you to develop the clinical skills, knowledge and decision-making needed to deliver excellent care.
Birthing simulator
Lucina, our high-tech birthing simulator, enables you to learn all the stages of delivery and rare emergency scenarios.
Practical teaching aids
Learn to become a midwife with the hands-on teaching and learning techniques, supported by innovative learning resources and our passionate, highly experienced staff.

Travel by foot
Fountain House is above the Broad Street Mall in Reading. The entrance is on Queen's Walk, a pedestrian walkway running between Oxford Road and the Civic Centre, at the rear of the Broad Street Mall.
From Oxford Road, turn into Queen's Walk and the entrance to Fountain House is about half-way down on the left.

Travel by train
The Berkshire Institute for Health is about five minutes walk away from Reading rail station. Trains run to London Paddington in less than 30 minutes.

Travel by car
There is no parking at Fountain House itself. However, there is parking nearby at Broad Street Mall car park.

If you enter the Broad Street Mall car park after 8am, tickets can be validated to a discounted rate by visiting UWL Reception (10th Floor) with your ticket.
