Intro

If you've accepted a course through Clearing and have already applied for student finance, you will need to update your student finance application with the new information.

This applies if:

  • You are going through Clearing or are accepting your insurance choice institution.
  • You have changed course, or been offered a place on a different course.
  • Your course length has changed (eg. from 3 years to 4 years).
  • You are changing to a Foundation Year course.

How do I get funding as a clearing student?

Students standing in a circle at Ruskin College.

If you've applied for a student loan but your details have now changed, you'll need to let the Student Loan Company (SLC) know as soon as possible. Failing to update the information can lead to issues down the line, so make sure you change it as soon as possible!

For UK/Home students, the SLC you use is dependent on your country of residence at the time of applying, not the location of your chosen institution(s).
