Alumni discount on taught postgraduate courses
If you are awarded your degree and graduate with a relevant three or four year undergraduate degree from the University of West London in 2024, you will be eligible for a discount of £2,000 when joining a taught postgraduate course in February or September 2024.
If you graduated earlier than 2024 and wish to join a taught postgraduate course in 2024, you will be eligible for a discount of £500.
The discount will be awarded for both full-time and part-time study and will be applied automatically upon enrolment.
Terms and conditions
- You must have attended and completed all three years of an undergraduate degree at the University of West London.
- The discount is for taught postgraduate study.
- Qualifications must have been obtained within the past 10 years to be eligible and must be from UWL or our predecessor institution.
- The discount may only be applied to one course.
- Each applicant can only receive one discount.
- The discount are payable on a pro-rata basis dependant on the number of postgraduate credits taken.
- The alumni discount does not apply to courses provided by our franchise partners.

International Ambassador Scholarship
If you are an international fee-paying student with an offer to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree with us, you are eligible to apply for one of our International Ambassador Scholarships.
As an International Ambassador you will meet other international students on the scheme and you will be asked to help showcase UWL to prospective international students, including helping out at Open Days, participating in interviews, videos and photo-shoots with the Marketing department or engaging with visiting international students.
Help to Achieve Scholarship
The Help to Achieve Scholarships are kindly supported by alumni and friends of the University of West London.
The Scholarships are open to full-time Home and International students pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course.
The University selection committee will select the most deserving candidates.

Learning Disabilities bursary
As a BNursing Learning Disabilities Nursing or PgDip Learning Disabilities Nursing student, you will receive a one-off UWL bursary of £1,000*. This is in addition to the NHS grant of at least £5,000 a year, plus a NHS subject specialist grant of a further £1,000 per academic year.
Check the NHS financial support information for further details and eligibility for these grants.
*This bursary is automatically awarded on successful completion of Year 1 of the course and is only applicable to students beginning their studies in September 2024.
LGCHT Friends and Alumni Scholarship
The London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism Friends and Alumni Scholarships are kindly supported by friends and former students of the College.
The Scholarships are open to full-time Home and International students pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course at the London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism.
The College's selection committee will select the most deserving candidates.

The Brian Woodman Memorial Prize
The Brian Woodman Memorial Prize is kindly supported by his son Professor Anthony Woodman.
The Prize is open to full-time Home and International students pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course at the School of Medicine and Biosciences. The Prize will be awarded to the student who has done most to instil diversity into the Biomedical Sciences.
The School's selection committee will select the most deserving candidate.

The Cathie Wallace Scholarship is kindly supported by Professor Emerita Cathie Wallace.
The Scholarship is open to full-time Home and International students at the University of West London pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course.

The Sara Jayne Stanes Chocolatier Prize is kindly supported by friends and alumni of the London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism, in memory of Sara Jayne Stanes, CEO of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and visiting Professor at UWL.
The Prize is open to full-time Home and International students pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course at the London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism. The Prize is for the most promising Chocolatier or Patisserie Student.
The College's selection committee will select the most deserving candidate based on academic recommendations.

Vice-Chancellor's PhD Scholarships
As part of its research expansion strategy, the University is offering a number of opportunities for fully funded PhD Scholarships. These will be available for all eligible students* (both home and international).
The University welcomes applicants who wish to study for a PhD research degree in one of its schools or colleges. Visit our PhD opportunities page for more information.
PhD scholars will be expected to carry out teaching or research duties for a maximum of six hours per week (full-time) and three hours per week (part-time).
Full-time
- Stipend of £22,000 per year (tax free)
- Up to £900 per year to attend conferences
- Duration: Three years
Part-time
- Stipend of £11,000 per year (tax free)
- Up to £450 per year to attend conferences
- Duration: Six years
