Background and scope

Over the past decades, the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology has seen tremendous progress in a wide range of applications including, the development of new algorithms for data processing and interpretation. GPR applications are numerous and currently include, sedimentology, ground-water contamination, glaciology, archaeology and cultural-heritage management, civil and geotechnical engineering, highway and transport infrastructure, forestry, planetary exploration, demining, amongst others. Wide applicability of GPR together with the recent advancements within the field, has made the GPR technology an area of endeavour with high reliability and trust. The integration of GPR with established and emerging ground-based sensing technologies and Earth Observation methods is also gaining momentum nowadays. Within the framework of the 2024 47th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP) held virtually during July 10-12, 2024, the main scopes of this Workshop are to encourage the publication of vanguard and pioneering research-based investigations and provide ample opportunity for further discussions in areas of high interest for GPR signal processing techniques and applications. Hence, papers with a focus on advanced GPR signal processing techniques in areas including, but not limited to, the civil and environmental engineering, geology, archaeology, cultural-heritage, and forestry management are encouraged.

Call for papers

How to submit

The final deadline (extended) for full paper submissions is 1 Aprio 2024.

You can learn more about submitting your paper on the TSP 2024 website.

Paper submission

Prospective authors are invited to submit full-length original and previously unpublished papers via the OpenConf Peer Review & Conference Management System . Email submissions will NOT be accepted. The instructions and templates for preparing your manuscript for TSP 2024 Conference are listed below. Please write and format your manuscript according to the following guidelines.

  • Template: Authors must use the official TSP 2024 template in LaTeX , MS Word , or Lyx  format to prepare the paper (LaTeX is mainly preferred). The best way to have your paper met the format requirements is to copy and paste your paper into the template file.
  • Paper Length and Size: Recommended length of papers is 4 full pages in A4 (210mm X 297mm) format including figures, tables & references. Maximum 4 additional pages are allowed with extra payment.
  • File Format for Submission: Adobe PDF (.pdf)
  • Fonts: Embed all fonts in your PDF file
  • Other Recommendations: The title, authors’ names, and authors’ order with fully filled information must be the same as the data included in the OpenConf Peer Review & Conference Management System. Do NOT page number your paper and do not apply security settings to your PDF file
  • Note: Deviations from the above paper specifications could impede the review of your paper and result in rejection or could cause removal from the proceedings
  • Plagiarism and Re-use of Earlier Published Materials: All submissions will be checked for plagiarism using IEEE CrossCheck Portal. The Prohibited Authors List (PAL) Database will be used to identify authors who have been prohibited from publishing with any or all IEEE publications. Possible violations will be reported to IEEE for further investigation. Re-use of material previously published by the authors is allowed under the conditions that the authors cite the reference and clearly describe the innovative contribution of the TSP 2024 submission.
  • Review Process: Submitted papers will undergo blind peer-review process by two to four members of the Technical Programme Committee and Organising Committee Members. Student reviewers are not used. According to TSP policy all papers with one reject decision from the reviewers are automatically rejected. Review results will be sent to all authors by e-mail given during the paper submission.
  • Discounts on Registration: Students, IEEE Members, and TSP Reviewers will receive discount on registration fee.
  • Target Acceptance Rate: 60% (in dependence on submitted papers quality).
  • Indexing

The Proceedings of the previous editions were indexed in IEEE Xplore, Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) of Thomson Reuters (formerly ISI Proceedings), SCOPUS, DBLP and Google Scholar databases.

  • Journal paper invitation

A selection of high-quality contributions will be invited to submit for consideration of publication (extended paper versions) to the the MDPI International Peer-Reviewed Open-Access Journal "NDT".

  • Awards

A Best Paper Award supported by the journal NDT (MDPI) will be presented in recognition of outstanding technical contributions in terms of quality and technical excellence of the paper.
