Celebrating International Women's Day
About the event
Many studies have established that human capital employed, particularly female leadership, has a significant positive impact on the financial performance of an organisation. However, the pace of change in gender diversity and balancing male/female leadership is still slow. To celebrate International Women’s Day, this event, hosted by Dr Amelia Au-Yeung, Deputy Dean, Claude Littner Business School, University of West London, discusses what could be done to accelerate the progression of gender diversity and women leadership in businesses.
It boasts speakers such as Mark Freed, CEO of E2W, who is the founder of Men for Inclusion campaign in the financial industry to promote men’s active involvement in bringing about a fundamental cultural shift that embraces and is inclusive for women leaders; and Joy Maitland, award-winning executive coach and Amazon best-selling author in leadership, who will share with us some valuable top tips on what women could focus on in their journey to getting their dream leadership position based on her wealth of senior-level corporate management experience.
The title of their speeches are:
- Men for Inclusion – Mark Freed
- Women in Leadership: Finding Your North Star – Joy Maitland
The event also celebrates efforts and work carried out by several other business organisations and Claude Littner Business School in progressing gender diversity and women leadership, and discusses what more could and should be done. Topics for this part include:
- Women at Boardroom and their Impact on Financial Performance of Firms
- What Organisations have Done and Could do More in Promoting Gender Diversity and Inclusion
- Career Mentoring for Women
