Understanding my results

To help you understand the codes used in your results, we have put together this simple guide on module denominators.

  • Module codes

    Grade: element level
    • P: Pass
    • LC: Late submission capped
    • M1: Mitigation – Penalty for late submission lifted
    • M2: Mitigation – Further attempt
    • R: Resit
    • NS: Non-submission
    • X: Academic zero (student work marked at 0%)
    • F: Fail
    • AM: Awaiting mark (e.g., extension accepted)
    • AD: Awaiting decision (extension / mitigation)
    • AO: Academic offence under investigation (marks withheld) / awaiting poor academic practice resubmission
    • O1: Academic offence – 0 in attempt, resit / retake capped (minor offence / major offence b)
    • O2: Academic offence – 0 in attempt, failure in all module elements, resit / retake capped (major offence c)
    • O3: Academic offence – course withdrawn (major offence d)
    • EO: Extraordinary attempt (NMC accredited courses)
    • DI: Interrupted studies (e.g., deferral/Break in Learning)
    • CW: Course withdrawal
    • NC: Not yet complete
    • PL: Placement underway (no mark due)
    • CM: Cap module
    Grade: overall module outcome
    • P: Pass
    • CP: Compensated pass
    • R: Resit
    • M: Mitigated sit
    • MR: Element mitigation and element resit
    • F: Fail
    • DD: Deferred decision
    • EO: Extraordinary attempt (NMC accredited courses)
    • DI: Interrupted studies (e.g., Deferral/Break in Learning)
    • CW: Course withdrawal
    • NC: Not yet complete
    • PL: Placement underway (no mark due)
    • CL: Recognition of Prior Certificated Learning (RPCL)
    • EL: Recognition of Prior Certificated Learning (RPEL)
  • Provisional results

    Provisional results, which have not been ratified by an Assessment Board, may also be displayed on MyRegistry.  

    If the Status field says ‘Indicative’ and the Mark and Grade fields are blank, your mark has not yet been confirmed by the module Assessment Board. Such marks are subject to change. 

    There are a number of reasons why some marks may not yet be ratified, we are working hard to process all marks as soon as possible.

    • PRO-RS: Progress with resit

    • FTP: Fail to progress
    • FTP-AR: Fail to progress – L3 Accelerated Retake possible
    • CC: Continue (re-enrolment, eg UG / PG PT)
    • CCE: Continue (enrolled, eg PG FT)
    • CMT: Continue with mitigation
    • CRS: Continue with resit
    • CRT: Continue with retake
    • DD: Deferred decision
    • DI: Interrupted studies (eg deferral)
    • CW: Course withdrawn – no exit award
    • NYC: Not yet complete
    • NYC-MT: Not yet complete with mitigation outstanding
    • NYC-RS: Not yet complete with resit outstanding
    • NYC-RT: Not yet complete with retake outstanding
    • PLA: Placement
    • PLA-MT: Placement underway with mitigation outstanding

Resit support from Study Support and the Library

Throughout the resit period, you can contact both the Study Support team and your Subject Librarian for support and advice.

Contact your Subject Librarian for an online 1-2-1 appointment to ask any questions you have about finding sources for your resits, evaluating sources and referencing.

Visit the Study Support Hub to book a 1-2-1 with the Study Support team or to attend an online drop in session for advice on planning, structuring and writing your assignments.

You can build on your success by accessing the support that will help you get top grades from Study Support, the Library and through using all the online tools available to you.

Graduation

If you are graduating this summer, make sure you have updated your contact details on MyRegistry so that we can send you your transcript and to ensure you get updates on graduation.

  • How will I obtain my award certificate and transcript?

    Your award certificate will be posted to you following the assessment boards. This will normally take 12 weeks after your Award has been approved.

    You will also receive a transcript which shows all the modules you've completed.

    This will be posted to your home address following the assessment boards, so make sure that your address is correct on MyRegistry.

If you have not passed a module, don’t panic, we’re here to support you. You can resit at the next available opportunity.

We know that this can be disappointing but there are lots of UWL graduates who have been in the same position, have learned from the experience, completed their degrees and are now in successful careers.
