Law students gain valuable insight on visit to Sky HQ

Law students from the University of West London (UWL) have been given the inside scoop on what it is like to work in media law following a visit to the Headquarters of Sky Television in Isleworth, which included an exclusive tour of Sky’s Innovation Lab.

The day started with a workshop with Sky’s legal team where students got the opportunity to work through typical legal case studies and present their findings to a panel of expert lawyers. After this, the students attended a presentation on applying for a Training contract and the recruitment process to join the Sky Team followed by a Q&A session.

The day ended with an exclusive visit to Sky’s Innovation Lab where the students had a glimpse of the latest developments in the company’s technology and heard from the experts who helped bring Sky Glass to life.

Speaking afterwards, Philip Ells, Head of the School of Law at UWL, said:

The students had such a great day and gained valuable insights from the legal and recruitment teams at Sky. Trips like this are so important for giving our students a taste of different careers across a diverse range of sectors.”
