    By posting a story, photo, reel or video of your experience at one of UWL's Applicant Days (6, 13 or 20 March) on Your Instagram account using the hashtag #UWLApplicantDay2024 during the Competition Period (6 March - 21 March), You will be automatically entered into a prize draw (unless You opt out by emailing communications@uwl.ac.uk)(“Competition”) for the chance to win a £50 Amazon Voucher (“Prize”). There will in total be one Prize available to be won.

    Terms and Conditions

    To understand our responsibilities to You (the Entrant), and Your responsibilities to Us, please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. “Terms and Conditions” means the terms and conditions (clauses 1 to 32) set out below.

    1. By entering the Competition, You are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please retain a copy for your information.

    2. The University of West London Higher Education Corporation whose main administrative offices are at St. Mary's Road, Ealing, London W5 5RF (“UWL” or “Our” or “Us” or “We”) is the promoter of the Competition.

    3. To enter the Competition, You must:

    (a) be a UWL offer holder and attend one of UWL's Applicant Days (6, 13 or 20 March);

    (b) have an Instagram account that is open to the general public for viewing during the period 6 March 2024 to 21 March 2024;

    (c) be following UWL’s official Instagram account “@uniwestlondon” (“UWL Instagram Account”) during the period 6 March 2024 to 21 March 2024; and

    (d) post a photo, reel or video with a brief caption on Your Instagram gallery feed of Your experience at UWL’s Induction Week using the hashtag “#UWLApplicantDay2024” (“Post””);

    4. There is no entry fee and no purchase is necessary to enter the Competition.

    5. There is no limit to the number of Posts that You can submit.

    6. The Competition will run from 6 March 2024, 1pm (UK time) until 20 March 2024, 23:59pm (UK time) inclusive (“Competition Period”). All Competition entries received after the Competition Period will not be accepted. UWL reserves the right to shorten or extend the Competition Period at its sole discretion.

    7. Upon posting a Post on your Instagram gallery feed with the hashtag “#UWLApplicantDay2024” during the Competition Period, You will be automatically entered into the Competition (unless You opt out by emailing communications@uwl.ac.uk).

    8. Entries will be deemed to be received at the time of receipt of Your Post on Instagram’s general search feed.

    9. By submitting a Post, You confirm that:

    (a) each Post submission is Your original work and, as such, You are the sole and exclusive owner and rights holder of the submitted Post, and that, to the extent that such entry makes use of any third party work or materials, You have obtained all necessary rights and licences;

    (b) You have the right to submit the Post to the Competition and grant all required licences; and

    (c) the Post does not infringe any third party’s proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights;

    10. By entering the Competition, You grant UWL a non-exclusive, perpetual and royalty-free licence to edit, publish, translate, modify, make available, re-post/share and distribute Your Post throughout the world in any media known or thereafter invented.

    11. UWL will not accept responsibility for:

    (a) Competition entries that are lost, delayed or not received in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, application, computer or mobile phone hardware or software failure of any kind, or not received for whatever reason;

    (b) any Post that is tagged incorrectly, unreadable or ineligible; or

    (c) any Post being deleted or hashtag being corrupted or misdirected;

    12. UWL will not accept Competition entries that are:

    (a) automatically generated by computer;

    (b) completed by third parties;

    (c) incomplete;

    (d) in breach of UWL’s policies and regulations which can be found on the policies and regulations page); or

    (e) in breach of these Terms and Conditions;

    13. Any Post submitted must NOT contain any material which is (or promotes activities which are) sexually explicit, obscene, violent, discriminatory (including but not limited to race, sex, religion, natural origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal, offensive, threatening, profane, or harassing or which is otherwise inappropriate, in the sole discretion of UWL, nor may the Post submitted contain any derogatory references to UWL or any other person or entity including brands or trademarks of UWL or any other person or entity.

    14. There will in total be one (1) Prize available to be won by one (1) winner.

    15. One (1) winner will be selected by a random computer selection process from all valid entries received during the Competition Period.

    16. Unless otherwise required by UWL, the winner will be contacted by direct message by UWL’s Instagram Account by 5 February via the Instagram account provided at the point of entry.

    17. In order to claim the Prize, the winner must confirm acceptance of the Prize to UWL by direct message to UWL’s Instagram Account by no later than 28 March 2024, 23:59pm (UK Time) (“Deadline”). If the winner does not claim the Prize by the Deadline, UWL reserves the right to withdraw the Prize entitlement and select another winner.

    18. The Prize: (a) may not be claimed by a third party on behalf of the winner; and (b) is non-transferable.

    19. UWL will notify the winner when and where the Prize can be collected / is delivered. It is Your responsibility to provide correct, up-to-date details on acceptance of the Prize. UWL cannot be held responsible for the winner’s failure to supply accurate information which affects Prize acceptance or delivery.

    20. UWL reserves the right to verify the winner and ask for proof of identity.

    21. UWL reserves the right to substitute the Prize with a cash alternative to the equal value of the Prize.

    22. UWL’s decision is final and binding in all matters relating to the Competition and the Prize and no correspondence will be entered into.

    23. Where the Prize is provided by a third-party supplier (“Supplier”):

    (a) UWL accepts no responsibility for inaccuracy of any Prize description. The Supplier is responsible for Prize fulfilment; and

    (b) the Prize is subject to the Supplier’s terms and conditions. It is the responsibility of the winner to familiarise themselves with them and to abide by them.

    24. At any time UWL reserves the sole right to make any changes (including but not limited to the right to cancel, suspend, postpone or amend all or any part of the Competition) to the Competition in any manner and/or these Terms and Conditions without notice or liability to You.

    25. By entering the Competition, You agree that:

    (a) UWL shall be entitled to use and process your personal data for the purposes of administering the Competition and in accordance with UWL’s student privacy notice and data protection policies which can be found on the policies and regulations page and UK data protection laws; and

    (b) UWL may use Your Instagram username, name and surname, image, quotes and Post in any publicity material (in any form and medium), without any fee being payable or prior notice, and in entering the Competition You consent to the same.

    26. Entry to the Competition is at the Entrant’s sole risk. UWL shall not be liable under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, the Competition or any Prize for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss, liability, damage, disappointment, costs, expenses, claims, personal injury or death (whether in contract, tort, breach of statutory duty or otherwise) (“Losses”) incurred or suffered by an Entrant even if such Losses was reasonably foreseeable or might reasonably have been contemplated by the Entrant and UWL, and in the case of personal injury or death except where it is caused by the negligence of UWL. Your statutory rights are not affected.

    27. To the extent permitted by applicable law, UWL’s total liability under or in connection with the Competition, Prize and these Terms and Conditions shall be limited to the value of the Prize.

    28. The Competition is not to be construed in any manner to be sponsored or endorsed by Twitter, TikTok, Instagram or any other social network. You are providing Your information to UWL (who reserve the right to use the information provided in accordance with these Terms and Conditions) and not to any other party.

    29. This Competition is facilitated via Instagram. In addition to these Terms and Conditions, You must also comply with Instagram’s Terms and Policies which can be found on the Instagram Help Center page.

    30. If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which are beyond the reasonable control of UWL and which prevents or delays UWL from complying with these Terms and Conditions UWL will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations.

    31. These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communication, including advertising or promotional materials.

    32. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed exclusively by English law, and You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
