Dr Washington Machokoto
Washington is a Senior Lecturer in Business and Management at the Claude Littner Business School, University of West London. He has responsibilities including MBA Course Leader and leading several modules, including Principles of Management, Strategic Management, Business Ethics and Business Ethics in Action. Before joining the University of West London in September 2020, Washington worked at Activate Learning, Reading College, teaching on apprenticeship programmes up to level 5 and including managing research projects for more than two years. Washington has experience in developing teaching material, module reviews and assessments, and also supporting students. Outside of academia, Washington has extensive experience in people management from the UK private sector.
Washington has a strong research interest in employee voice, employee commitment and leadership, using qualitative methods, and he has published internationally in these areas. Washington is also willing to collaborate in wider qualitative studies. He recently joined CIPD South London Branch as a Branch Member. Washington is willing to continuously upgrade his knowledge on current issues, particularly in the people management field.
Washington has been a reviewer for the Journal of Psychology Research and Behavior Management since April 2023
