Five things to do when your assessments and exams are over

Congratulations! You’ve finished! Those hours of revision and work are behind you! You’re done with university, you made it! The only question is, what’s next?

Don’t panic, we’ve got you. Here’s a list of five things you need to do when your assessments and exams are over and done.

1. Make a career plan

You came to UWL with a dream. You chose your subject with a view towards an exciting career in that field. Now is the time to start thinking about that career. Who are you going to be in five years’ time? How are you going to get there? What do you need to do right now to make that happen? If you don’t know the answers to these questions, don’t worry, our careers team are here to help you!

2. Book an appointment with the Careers team to discuss your future

UWL is the career university, and we’re here to help at every step of the journey. Our dedicated careers advisers can show you what jobs are out there, advise you on applications and point you in the right direction for your future. We’re proud to offer lifelong support so even after you’ve left us, you can book an appointment through the careers hub. Register and book an appointment whenever you’re ready.

3. Check out SummerFest

In need of a little inspiration? Need some guidance on how you can optimise your summer? SummerFest is now open for business with a mix of everything from film nights, our Careers Fest, study skills development, entrepreneurship opportunities, fun trip ideas and much more!

4. Update your details

It’s essential to update your details to make sure we have the correct contact details for you. If we can’t get in touch, we can’t make you aware of all the great benefits we offer to our alumni and graduate students. You can update your details on MyRegistry.

5. Relax and enjoy a well-earned break

Finally, it’s time to chill. Use that study time to catch up on your favourite tv shows, meet up with your friends, go for some walks, soak up Ealing and get some sleep. You’ve earned this!

Future You

Your studies at UWL are coming to an end, and it’s time to start thinking about the future. If you’re a Level 6 student, then here you’ll find everything you need to start thinking about graduation, jobs, and further study.
