Employability services

Jonathan Eastwood has been working at UWL since 2023, leading the Careers and Volunteering teams. Everything he does is about creating opportunities for students to develop their lives and careers.

Veejay has been working at UWL since 2021. She manages a team of career consultants, and is responsible for working in partnership with schools. She facilitates and coaches students and graduates to make informed career decisions.

Maggie has been working as a career consultant since 2001. The key parts of her role are to support and guide UWL students and graduates to make independent career decisions. She collaborates with the London College of Music.

Chi has been at UWL since 2019 and collaborates with the School of Law, School of Biomedical Sciences, and the London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism. His main aim is to provide impartial advice and guidance to all UWL students about their careers.

Bernie has been at UWL since 2017 and her key purpose is to support students and graduates to achieve their career goals. Her main responsibilities include one-to-one guidance meetings and running careers education workshops in the curriculum.

Cathy has been in this role since 2015 and collaborates with the School of Human and Social Sciences. She supports students with all aspects of career decision-making, from making choices to applying for jobs.

Claire has been a part of the team since September 2022. The key purpose of her role is to support students as they navigate the initial stages of their career pathways. She most enjoys meeting people from a wide variety of backgrounds and hearing about the courses they are studying and their aspirations.

Steffan has been working at UWL since 2023. His primary responsibilities are career guidance, one-to-one appointments and delivering careers and employability advice sessions on different topics relevant to different year groups.

Hannah has been a Careers Consultant at UWL since 2014. The focus of her work is supporting graduates into graduate employment or further study, and supporting current students from School of Human and Social Sciences to develop their employability skills and plan their future careers.

Kofo has been part of UWL for over 25 years. Her main purpose is providing up to date, relevant careers information for UWL students, graduates, work colleagues within and outside the service. She is also responsible for the social media presence and marketing.

Maria is working as an apprentice in career development. She supports the students in creating an effective CV, and inspires informed career choices. She started as a UWL Talent Bank Trainee Career Advisor in December 2023 and is now a permanent staff member.

The purpose of Christian’s role is to support the Placement Officers within the team who oversee a variety of courses with integrated placements, internships and work experience routes.

Donna joined UWL in 2018 and supports undergraduate and postgraduate students in their search for placements and internships, helping them apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings thereby enhancing their employability skills. In addition, she builds and maintains relationships with employers, connecting them with our diverse and talented student body. Donna also co-organises the annual Hospitality & Tourism Careers Fair.

Jonathan has been with the university since 2023. He works with Early Childhood Studies and Education Studies students, helping to source useful and exciting placement opportunities.

Judith’s role is to help find and create opportunities for graduates for graduate opportunities and manage a team of five to upload opportunities to the Student Hub.

Kane has worked at UWL since 2022 and more recently worked as an Employer Engagement Officer (maternity cover) solely managing UWL Talent Bank. He co-manages the UWL Talent Bank and helps students find part-time work during their studies and graduate roles after graduating. He enhances close UWL employer relationships via employer visits, networking sessions, employer job promotions and annual careers fairs held at St Mary’s Road campus.

Narjis has been at UWL since 2022 and her role is mainly focused on managing administrative tasks for the Placement and Employment Service Team.
