‘Global Sustainability Leadership: A Joint UK-Mexico Certificate in Sustainable Engineering Management’ is a project led by Dr Mohammad Saki, Senior Lecturer in Sustainability and Green Technologies at UWL’s School of Computing and Engineering.
The HE Connects 2024 grant call aims to build institutional collaborations and long-term UK-Mexico relationships to accelerate activities for the internationalisation of the higher education sector.
Going Global Partnerships supports universities, colleges, and wider education stakeholders around the world to work together towards stronger, equitable, inclusive, more internationally connected higher education, science and TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training).
The primary objective of this proposal is to develop a joint certificate programme in sustainable engineering management between UWL and Tecnológico de Monterrey,”
explains Dr Saki.
This initiative aims to bridge the gap between Global North and Global South's understanding of sustainability through collaboration between the two countries, leveraging different expertise and knowledge in sustainable engineering management. The programme integrates international perspectives and pedagogical approaches to deliver a holistic programme through partnership.”
