Professor Anthony Woodman appointed Vice-Chancellor at the University of Hertfordshire
Intro
I am pleased to announce that Professor Anthony Woodman has been appointed to the position of Vice-Chancellor at the University of Hertfordshire and will take up his new role in Autumn 2025.
Professor Woodman, currently Provost and Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, joined the University of West London (UWL) in October 2011 as Director of Research and was promoted to Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) in January 2012. Since 2011 he has worked tirelessly for the University with a remit spanning oversight of academic schools, enterprise and knowledge exchange through to home and international student recruitment and the launch in April 2024 of the School of Medicine and Biosciences. He is a Trustee of Ruskin College, Oxford and represents UWL on the Borough of Ealing Local Strategic Partnership and the Ealing Adult Education Advisory Board, as well as West London Business.
Professor Woodman has made a genuine contribution to the growth of the University over many years, helping to impact its recent upward trajectory and its significant reputational advancement. The University of Hertfordshire’s gain will be UWL’s loss.
Congratulations Anthony! We are very grateful for your hard work at UWL and we wish you every success in your new role.
Professor Peter John CBE
President and Vice-Chancellor
