UWL Lecturer Practitioner elected as new member of Nursing Professional Advisory Group
Intro
Melanconia Duval-Pazzaglia, Lecturer Practitioner in Critical Care at UWL's College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare, has recently been elected as a member of the Nursing Professional Advisory Group (NPAG) for the Intensive Care Society (ICS).
Article body
The ICS supports the multi-professional intensive care community by providing education, standards, guidance, research and more. The members of ICS PAGs help shape all areas of their work, from standards and guidelines to sustainability and equality, diversity and inclusion, and their expertise and input is vital. The NPAG plays a critical role in representing nurses, shaping policies and advising on matters that impact the intensive care nursing profession.
Her dual role as a Lecturer Practitioner at UWL and Lead of Education in Critical Care at London North West University Healthcare Trust allows Melanconia to bridge the gap between clinical practice and education. Her election to the NPAG will strengthen the connection between the University's teaching and the real-world challenges faced by intensive care nurses. She plans to bring the insights she gains into the classroom, using them to inspire future generations of critical care nurses and promote evidence-based best practices.
I hope to use my role within the NPAG to elevate the voices of nurses – particularly internationally trained nurses – and foster initiatives that support their growth and well-being.”
says Melanconia.
I am committed to ensuring that UWL students and staff are part of national conversations that shape the future of healthcare.”
