Great news for the University of West London (UWL), as it achieves its highest ever position in the UK league tables, climbing to an impressive No. 23 – up 12 places from last year - in the Guardian University Guide 2023 rankings of UK higher education institutions published today.

The prestigious independent guide ranks UWL as No. 23 out of 121 universities nationwide.

Welcoming the news, Professor Peter John, CBE, UWL Vice-Chancellor said:

We are delighted to achieve our highest ever ranking with these latest, excellent results which underline UWL’s consistently strong performance in realising our mission to provide students with a high quality, career-focused education which delivers life-changing career opportunities."

Our success is predicated on a number of factors including excellent teaching, relevant curriculum and impressive facilities but the key ingredient has to be our amazing and hard-working students on whom we have a relentless focus to deliver the best possible student experience so that they may thrive and achieve the success they deserve."

This latest recognition comes after UWL’s exceptional performance in The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023 which saw the University named University of the Year for Student Experience - for the second time in three years - and University of the Year for Teaching Quality.

Earlier this year in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2022 the University was voted No.1 in the UK for student satisfaction*, student voice and academic support**

In recent years, UWL has been on an incredible upward trajectory, rising through a range of league tables and sector metrics establishing itself among some of the top universities in the country. This is a result of an unswerving commitment to offer the opportunity of transformational change to students through the delivery of high quality, career-focused courses in a supportive learning environment. The university has also made significant investment in its facilities - creating modern teaching, sports, and social spaces to help all learners meet their potential.
