Chiara Baiocchi
Chiara is a children's nurse with a solid clinical national and international background and multiple skills obtained from different work experiences. She trained in Italy and she graduated from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with a First Class Honours in Nursing (Child).
Having particular interest in Paediatrics and International Child Health she then worked for the FOCSIV NGO in Arequipa, (Perù) acting as a nurse educator in nine education centres. She developed her clinical skills at the paediatric centre of excellence Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where she became an expert in paediatric critical care. Whilst employed in PICU she also became qualified mentor and paediatric tissue viability link nurse and she obtained a PGCert in Health and Social Care at Edge Hill University. She is now a Senior Lecturer in Children’s Nursing at the University of West London and she has decided to dedicate her career in inspiring and motivating the future nurses with her clinical expertise and engaging approach to learning. Therefore, she completed a PgCert in Professional Academic Practice and she became Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her main interests and input for research are International Child Health, Child health, Bioethics, Decision Making and Acute/Critical care.

Chiara teaches Pre-Reg students enrolled in the Bsc Nursing, Bsc Children's Nursing, Msci Nursing and FdSc Nursing Associate. Chiara is also Course Leader, Module leader, ASLT (Academic Support Link Tutor), AA (Academic Assessor) and PT (Personal Tutor).
