Richard has over 15 years experience in oil and gas and over 4 years experience in the insurance sector, mostly in roles which have included global category manager, sourcing specialist and local procurement services advisor, delivering internationally as well as globally and engaging at senior levels. He has considerable international experience in major blue-chip corporations within the oil and gas industries.

Richard moved out of oil and gas after 15 years to broaden his experience and has driven real and proven results within a variety of challenging environments and has developed strong knowledge of procurement and general business management/stakeholder engagement skills.

Richard’s experience is primarily indirect and services procurement and has been working in corporate real estate and FM / Doc Logistics for the last 10 years. His experience also includes utilities buying, direct packaging procurement, HR, retail marketing.

Richard works for CIPS as an Assessor for the Corporate Award, is FCIPS qualitied (having been awarded Fellowship in 2018) and has an MSc (Masters) in Procurement. He works part-time as a lecturer for UWL and aims to bring a unique practical insight and application to the courses and modules he teaches.
