Peer Assisted
Study Sessions (PASS)

Take the next steps to enhance your learning
Introduction to PASS
Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) are weekly study sessions for Level 4 students. These sessions are led by PASS Leaders, who are Level 5 or 6 students studying the same course. It is an opportunity for you to learn collaboratively with your peers, which can help to improve your confidence in your studies and ease your transition into higher education.
The Peer Mentoring team coordinate the PASS scheme at UWL. PASS is for any Level 4 student studying on a course or module in which the scheme is being implemented.
What are the benefits of attending PASS?
Volunteering as a PASS Leader
PASS Leaders are students studying at level 5 or 6. These students attend a two-day training delivered by a PASS Supervisor to prepare them for the role.
It is highlighted to students during the training that they do not take the role of a lecturer and cannot teach the course, nor do they give students the answers. Their role involves facilitating learning to support students and helping them with finding answers on their own.
How to get involved

Please note that we cannot guarantee that this scheme will be available for your course as it is dependent on the demand for these sessions in each course or module.
