Film, Media and Design Foundation Year Experience
You can build a strong understanding of the creative industries while you prepare for undergraduate study with the Film, Media and Design Foundation Experience year.
Successful completion of the Foundation Year allows you to automatically progress onto our full range of undergraduate degrees within the School.

Throughout the Foundation Experience year, you will learn about creative fields such as:
- fashion and textiles
- photography
- journalism
- radio production
- film

- media and communications
- advertising
- public relations, and much more.
You will receive workshops and tutorials by guest lectures and subject specialists to expose you to all areas of these creative sectors. Your teaching will give you access to our excellent facilities. This course is the first step towards getting your degree and entering the competitive creative sector.

London School of Film, Media and Design: Foundation Year
Our Foundation Year is tailored to prepare you to meet the demands of undergraduate study by introducing the principles of good academic and research practices that will inform the rest of your academic journey.
Research
With highly active research staff, the London School of Film, Media Design offers PhD supervision in a broad range of fields. Our combination of theoretical and practical expertise means we can support either written or practice-based PhD work, which could include elements of archival research, film or exhibition practice.
This is in addition to the research specialisms of our teaching staff, which include rethinking the image; media transformations; practice, theory and philosophy in film, photographic and screen arts; and adaptation and popular British genre fiction.

CertHE Professional Make-up Design
Apply now through the Delamar Academy website.
The one year CertHE Professional Make-up Design is offered by Delamar Academy, London's leading provider of practical make-up courses based at Ealing Studios.
Delamar graduates have gone on to win awards all over the world, including Oscars and Baftas.
This course provides intensive practical training for film, television, theatre and fashion. You will be taught by professionals who are still working in the industry today, using the latest products and techniques. They will prepare you for life in the industry, telling you what they’d expect of their trainees and any other make-up artists in the team.
