Latest startup to join the Westmont Enterprise Hub brings people together in photos

Intro

YouMe Limited, founded by UWL alumni Yumi Kobayashi, is the latest startup to enter the Westmont Enterprise Hub. The company is developing a photo editing app that allows participants to appear together in photos even if they are in totally different locations.  The idea has been adapted from Japanese cultural phenomenon ‘Purikura’, which means print room, where young people take pictures together in photo booths.

Yumi, who graduated in 2022 with an MSc International Business Management, said:

I am really excited about turning my idea into a business. During my time as a student, I got amazing help from the Hub team to develop my idea into the strong business plan that I have now.  I am looking forward to developing my app with their expert guidance and support from their technical developers.

My goal now is to get the investment I need to take YouMe to the next level. I am really excited about the future. Having the Enterprise Hub at the University is a wonderful resource that gives students a great opportunity to realise their dreams of becoming an entrepreneur.”

Westmont Enterprise Hub is there to help students with entrepreneurial ambitions realise their business ideas. It can help design ideas, build concepts and scale businesses in a variety of ways:  perfecting pitch delivery through acting sessions; developing Minimum Viable Products and ensuring investor readiness through our investor networks to obtain seed capital.
