Aviation companies in attendance included Turkish Airlines and British Airways, as well as the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). From the hospitality and culinary arts sector, major hotel chains such as the Mandarin Oriental and De Vere were present. Restaurants included the Chiltern Firehouse and The Fat Duck Group.

We’re keen to build a stronger relationship and work together as it provides us with the pipeline of really good workers. Students on the Aviation courses hear about us a lot, we are a complex organisation so being here is about explaining what the actual roles are, and the kinds of contracts - internships, casual work and graduate programmes,”

Laura from CAA explained.

We have a long-standing relationship with UWL and appreciate that there are a lot of really engaged students looking for part-time work alongside their studies. We are also excited to discuss our graduate development programme Rising Fans with students,”

Elsie from Mandarin Oriental added.

I was made to feel so welcome by both staff and students. The networking breakfast was an excellent idea, I made contacts who shared the challenges we are facing currently in the wonderful of hospitality. Students were very polite, engaged, asked appropriate questions and had great focus on their future careers,”

said Donna from De Vere Hotels.

Students attending the fair were happy with the range of companies in attendance and potential opportunities available to them.

Having the opportunity to network with a wide range of luxury hotels is great. The fair could be the first 'touchpoint' with a potential employer, knowing the opportunities they offer and what they look for in a candidate is so crucial in my search for a placement,”

said Cristiano, an MA Luxury Hospitality Management student.

I am currently in my final year studying International Tourism Management and I was interested to speak to employers and luxury hotels about different types of career paths. I am looking for a graduate scheme in hotel management,”

said Nuno.

Christian, who is in his second year of Air Transport Management, commented:

I am looking for placements in the aviation sector. I have also been discussing interesting roles working in managing cargo and options at Heathrow Airport – wish me luck!”
