The networking after the symposium was popular with students, and many new and valuable industry connections were made. We were also honoured to welcome distinguished keynote speakers from Heathrow Airport, EasyJet Graduate Recruitment, the Royal Aeronautical Society and Wizz Air, who shared valuable insights for our future graduates on the evolving industry landscape.

I had a brilliant experience speaking to students about the significant impact the University has had on my aviation career.

Having the opportunity to share my personal journey in the aviation industry was truly rewarding,”

commented Mohammed Ahmad, who graduated in Airline and Airport Management in 2017 and is now a Resource Allocation Executive at British Airways.

Service Recovery Manager at Heathrow Airport Miguel Cabrera Vivas, also a UWL alumnus, said:

Returning to UWL, where my aviation journey began, was an honour. Speaking to prospective students eager to enter this dynamic industry reminded me of how UWL shaped my path.

Success in aviation is about more than technical skills –it is about resilience, adaptability and passion. I encouraged them to explore diverse roles during and after studies, from Operations to Security, each requiring unique strengths and a commitment to growth.”
