Led by LCM Lecturer and External Engagement Coordinator Esther Sheridan, the team have been working with a group of local community partners and producers to curate the Festival’s West Stage.

They will showcase four LCM acts: indie rock band The Pypes, R&B singer/songwriter Ellie Maxwell, alternative/progressive rock artist and composer Ailen, and acoustic alternative indie and soul duo Valley Doctor. They will also provide a house band to collaborate with other performers.

Label Coordinator at LCM’s in-house record label London Noise Records Maja Wohlan and final year Recording and Performance student Vincenzo Maxia are the stage producers for the West Stage.

I’ve enjoyed working with so many new people and unique organisations. I’m excited to watch our LCM acts display their talents on such a large stage!”

said Maja.

I’ve enjoyed collaborating with all the partner organisations. It has been particularly interesting learning about how to make the festival accessible for people with disabilities. For instance, there will be a safe zone where young people can just chill.”

added Vincenzo.

I’ve been overseeing the stage plans, which are crucial for the successful execution of the schedule and ensuring that artists feel confident with their setup.

I have had the chance to test my skills in a real-world setting, which is invaluable for my career progression.”

As well as live music, the New Gen programme covers dance, spoken word performances, and lots of creative activities, from steelpans and poetry to art and filmmaking.

Other partner organisations involved include Bollo Brook Youth Centre, JE Delve, DIAXPORA, Ealing Council, Elevate Arts, Include Me, Rebels & Pilgrims, Southall Community Alliance and the Young Ealing Foundation.
