Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony takes place in Ealing

The first ever Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship Ceremony took place on Monday 3 June at the St Mary’s Road site, with 35 new constables celebrating their graduation with family and friends.

The Police Constable Apprenticeship, which is run by the University of West London’s Institute for Policing Studies, combines on the job learning with working towards a fully funded degree. The graduates were congratulated on their achievement by academic staff and members of the University including Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience) Sara Raybould and Pro Chancellor Jennifer Bernard.

We are proud of our collaboration with Babcock and the Metropolitan Police Service and we're also very, very proud of all of you. I know you've all worked very hard to get here today, not only at the University but also as serving police officers.”

said Professor Peter John CBE, the Vice Chancellor and President of the University of West London.

Two awards were given to outstanding students - the Chief Superintendent Award for Best End Point Assessment Performance, which was presented to Ben and the Director of Learning and Development Award for Highest Overall Achiever, which was won by Sebastian.

It’s great to see our first three cohorts of students graduating today. I want to congratulate them on their dedication and hard work and wish them every success in their careers.”

said Head of the Institute for Policing Studies Andy Rose.

The evening ceremony was a chance for graduates to celebrate their success and take photos with friends, family and classmates. Congratulations!
