In every job, there are clear indicators of success. For a musician, there’s nothing quite like performing at Glastonbury, a dream that came true for UWL alumni Katya just last year.

The visit provided opportunities for students and staff to exchange experiences and best practices for policing, international cooperation and police education in the UK and Cambodia.

Over 90 UK students enjoyed a day of presentations and workshops exploring careers, as well as networking opportunities and a panel discussion with Black Bioscience graduates.

Their performances, taking place in UWL’s Lawrence Hall, Vestry Hall and a Kensington church, are the culmination of their course, designed for classical or jazz instrumentalists and singers who want to work professionally in the music industry.

This year's National Education Opportunities Network (NEON) Summer Symposium was the first to be held in the capital.

Photography on display included depictions of night-time walks along the Thames, explorations of cultural heritage, collages of the metropolis and botanical still life.

All her life, Jaya Sajani has been pushing herself to achieve more. It’s a journey that took her from India to the UK, from MBA student to director of her own company, a board trustee and a campaigner for female advancement.

The discussion was entitled "How and where to connect with the next generation of talent" and took place at the ACCA’s London head office.

More than 100 staff and postgraduate students attended to hear about some of the research projects underway at UWL and engage with the University’s research strategy for the next five years.
