Films for the competition were conceptualised, scripted, shot, edited, and delivered over five days by teams of amateurs, accompanied by a professional during March and April of 2024. The UWL team’s film, ‘West London: A Journey Through ASMR’, was two minutes and 44 seconds long, responding to the brief - West London: A Creative Place to Be. The film was highly commended, with each student winning a £20 Amazon voucher.

Its producer Mirana described taking part in the competition as “a really enriching experience”:

I got to learn about every aspect of filming and teamwork. It’s great to get such hands-on industry experience as a creative writing student, and this was really fun to participate in."

Associate Professor in Film and Creative Writing Dr Jon Crewe said:

I would like to thank Manoj Gohil from Delusions of Grandeur Films who acted as the team’s mentor for the competition.

It is great to see our students having a chance to take on inspiring creative challenges that enhance their learning experience and help prepare them for the world of work.”
