Megan Heather Russell, a graduate from University of West London (UWL), recently worked with Mercury Prize-winning band Elbow on their live performance for BBC Radio 2’s Piano Room with the BBC Concert Orchestra. Two tracks recorded at the session also appear on the extended edition of 'Audio Vertigo', Elbow’s fourth number-one album in the UK.

Awards were presented to students at the Claude Littner Business School, part of the University of West London, at various levels of study and on a range of courses at the School.

UWL apprenticeships help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career. Second-year degree apprentice students on our BSc (Hons) Express Delivery Manager course participated in a special morning at UWL’s FlightPad Boeing 737 simulator.

The UWL alumnus and renowned international businessperson shared golden insights with students at the University’s eponymously named Claude Littner Business School.

The recently formed orchestra is currently made up of 35 musicians, eight of whom are students at the University’s London College of Music. The free concert took place in Weston Hall and included music from The Lord of the Rings and Mission: Impossible films.

Students from UWL’s London School of Film, Media and Design (LSFMD) and London College of Music (LCM) joined together in January for a week-long ‘Games Jam’, with three teams each creating a completed game in just five days. The week ended with awards for the best games produced.

Frasier combines working with Circana (formerly IRI/NPD), a market-leading consultancy on consumer behaviour, with helping other degree apprentices succeed.

Sarah Jane Bartlett is the Housing Grants & Adaptations Manager at Hillingdon Council. The Council supported her dream to study for a BSc Digital Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship at the University of West London.

Andrew, whose work on the theatrical adaptation of Life of Pi was honoured with a 2022 Olivier Awards nomination, is an alumnus of UWL’s London College of Music (LCM) having studied piano and clarinet there from 1982-1985.

The joint exhibition, showcasing the work of students from all years, is running until the end of February.

To celebrate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, industry experts recently chose six green apprenticeships – including one from the University of West London - to be marked with the Coronation emblem.

Taking place at the end of October 2023, the University of West London’s Student Money Week included information sessions and stands in both St Mary’s Road and Paragon campuses.

LCM Sessions are free weekly live music events held at Freddie’s, UWLSU’s Student Lounge. The gigs showcase a variety of artists, mostly from London College of Music, and vary in genre every week.

Macfarlanes began a placement scheme for first year LLB students in 2021 with six universities including UWL. Our School of Law shortlists up to eight candidates, which Macfarlanes then further shortlist for interview.

These new students were chosen from more than 500 applicants to receive an International Ambassador Scholarship. International Ambassadors help showcase UWL to other prospective overseas students.

"London Calling" aims to welcome those new to the city, particularly university students. Taking place on Friday 6 October, the evening event will feature a scavenger hunt, creative workshops, talks, drinks and music.
